Take a private soap making class with me. I can tailor a class specifically for you and give you my full attention.

Interested in learning how to make your own handcrafted soap, but a little shy about taking a class with others? Or maybe you just want someone to teach you one-on-one.

Is there is a certain technique you’d like to learn? How to layer soap? Do an in-the-pot swirl? Is there a trick to using embeds?

Do you want to learn how to make a goat milk or a beer soap? (Yes, you can make a soap with alcohol!)

Maybe your curious about incorporating color into your soaps. We can use natural botanicals for color or micas.

In a private soap making class, you’ll be the only student.  Once we get the basics done, there’ll be time to talk about move advanced topics.

This class will teach you

1-How to work safely with lye. We will use gloves and goggles.

2-The properties of soap making oils and why we use them. Each oil we put into the soap adds something special to it.

3-How to use an online lye calculator.

4-An understanding of what superfatting is, and what actually happens during the soap making reaction (saponification)

5-How to make a great bar of soap.  You’ll feel comfortable formulating your own soap recipe.

You’ll leave class with a handout that includes

1-Safety instructions (general and lye related)

2-Necessary equipment list.

3-Detailed step-by-step soap making instructions.

4-My supplier list of where to purchase ingredients.

5-10 soap recipes.

6-3 pounds of soap.

7-Curing instructions.

8-The confidence to make soap at home on your own.
