The Salt Soap Series

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap White with Black Sea Salt

Why would you add salt to a soap?  Why make a salt soap?

Great questions.  I looked up the benefits of a salt soap.

I’ve heard salt soaps are exfoliating, but I don’t agree.

I read they are detoxifying, but I’ve always wondered how something that’s on your skin (soap lather) for a minute can “detoxify” you?

Someone else says they’re good for acne. Well, that’s a medical claim, and the FDA says you can’t say that.

I say let’s make them because trying to use up ingredients I have on hand, and it’s something different. I made a bunch of different color salt soaps on Facebook Live and I’d like to introduce them to you.

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap Orange

Orange

Bergamot, Geranium and Rosewood are the scents of the bar. Floral and woody. Watch me make it here.

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap

Purple

The second bar is a blend of sweet Ylang Ylang and Geranium. Sweet and sweeter.  This was a fun color to make.

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap Green

Green

Ok guys, this combination was made with you in mind.  Fir Needle with Rosemary and Cedarwood.  Strong and powerful. And if you listen until the end you’ll hear the story of my Vampire soap.

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap Yellow

Yellow

This is the all citrus blend. Lemon, Grapefruit and Bergamot. Bright and lemony. Do you notice the swirl I put on all the soaps?

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap Blue

Blue

This soap was tough.  What aromas go with blue? I chose Juniper Berry, Frankincense and Bergamot. Earthy and smooth. Click to find out why I like making these.

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap Pink

Pink

A double Geranium (Egyptian Geranium and Geranium Rose) with Patchouli.  Floral and earthy, but mostly floral. I thought this combo might give me problems, but it didn’t.

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap White

White

Gotta be honest.  This is the soap I’m the most proud of.  Sage Dalmation, Lemon and Black Pepper with a sprinkling of black sea salt on top. I felt like a real perfumer making this one.

Alegna Soap® Salt Soap Black

Black

Activated Charcoal and Tea Tree essential oil in a salt soap. The three things they say are good for teenage skin. Oops, I said it in this Facebook Live too.

Have you ever tried a Salt Soap?  What do you think?

Yours in Gratitude,

Angela
