My Charity
Many years ago, a friend of mine was in a tough spot. You can read her story here. I started Alegna Soap® in 2009 and in 2011 I decided I wanted to make a difference and give back to the organization that helped her. My charity, Soap for Soup, was born. Each one of these soaps look and smell different. They are special soaps, made from soap ends and the last bit of soap in my soap pot. All of the money made from these soaps are given to a local food pantry. Since the soap costs $5.00 each, that means for each bar you purchase, $5 will be given to the pantry.
The charity that helped my friend is the St Martin of Tours food pantry. The pantry gives to anyone who needs assistance, regardless of religion and is staffed with volunteers. I stopped by and asked if I could take some pictures. I wanted to show you how we’ve filled the shelves.
They had fresh produce available. How wonderful is that!
Soap for Soup
Since 2011, Alegna Soap® has raised more than $11,000 with Soap for Soup. I even had a bride and groom use them as their wedding favors, and refuse to take a discounted price. I can’t tell you how proud I am of the fact my customers love to give back.
One of the best feelings is that customers keep purchasing them. Giedra was looking for me at the Sea Cliff Mini Mart, and was happy to find me and pose for a picture.
