I spent Monday in the city at the Indie Connection Day. The event was organized by Donna Maria of Indie Business Network and I’d been looking forward to it for a while now. I live in an area where I can easily get together with Indie maker friends, but there are others who aren’t so lucky. Besides, I’ve connected to others online and wanted to meet them in person. Christine, Roslyne, Roberta and I see each other regularly, along with Anne Marie and Jennifer (who were unable to attend). We’ve been marketing our WOW Box, and thought it’d be cute to take a picture of us saying “Wow!”
In the morning there was time to say hello and network with everyone. I was finally able to meet Donna Maria, Sharon McLaughlin, and Donna Derosa, and enjoyed seeing La Shonda Tyree, Jennifer Kurko, and Cae Byng again. I met some new friends too, Vienna Carroll, Kim Jones, Viktoriya Hopperstad, and Tina Frazier.
We got to work pretty quickly and I enjoyed every minute. There were talks to absorb and worksheets to do. Listening to the feedback from everyone was empowering. There was energy in the room and I left with specific goals and a renewed enthusiasm. I took the train home with Roberta, and I don’t think we stopped talking at all on the ride home. We were at the Bethpage station in a flash.
Have you ever been to an event that motivated you?
Yours in Gratitude,
