A few weeks ago I received an order for 19 of my Soap for Soup soaps and an email from Helga. It seems her son was getting married and she needed 30 soaps for bridal shower favors. Her son works for Association to Benefit Children and the bride-to-be works for Breaking Ground. The almost married couple are big believers in giving back to the community, and she loved the idea behind my Soap for Soup.

Thanks for creating your wonderful line of soap products. When I saw the Limited Edition online I just had to choose “Soap for Soup” for my future daughter in law as one of the favors for her shower. Your story and generous contribution to local food pantries from this purchase will be truly appreciated by the bride, groom and guests alike. Please let me know if you have 11 more. If not I will pick out some from your other lines.

I was really excited Helga felt my Soap for Soup would make perfect bridal shower favors. I think soap is the perfect shower gift, because everyone needs it. But Soap for Soup also gives back since I donate the price of the soap back to a local food pantry. Did I have any more on my curing racks? Why, yes I did!
Helga lives about 3 miles away so I decided to deliver the soap to save her the shipping charge. When I got to her house she told me how happy she was to have found me, and I said I was happy she did too! Helga emailed me after the big day to tell me that the soaps were a success with the guests and the bride-to-be.
I have already gotten such positive feedback from some of the guests regarding how wonderful their skin feels. Thanks again for “Soup for Soap” such a great idea for the party bags for the bridal shower. It was a quite a hit.
I’m grateful Helga found me. There are many other Long Island soap makers who make awesome soap. I’m friends with many of them. She could have chosen to purchase her bridal shower favors from anyone else, but she didn’t. Somehow, she found me. Thank you Helga, for supporting my dream and for stocking the food pantry of St Martin of Tours.
