This picture was taken from the 27th floor of an office building on Park Avenue. I was asked to share my knowledge about handcrafted soap at a Health and Wellness event a prestigious law firm was holding for their employees.
The event was given during the week I had off from work, so I decided to give it a try. I was told there was no selling allowed. They wanted their employees to have access to information to improve their lives. I imagine working in a law firm is a stressful job, this was meant to be relaxing and informative.
Going into the city is fun. I walked from Penn Station, it didn’t take long. I brought samples and business cards for the employees to take home and full bars of soaps and other products for them to sniff.
This Wellness event was nothing like I’ve ever seen. We were in the boardroom and the table was so long it wouldn’t fit in my house. Computer screens dropped down from the ceiling with spa music and peaceful pictures. There was an area to get a manicure, shoe shine, haircut, shave, reiki, massage, and acupuncture. They had healthy food available (think spinach salad, quinoa, and veggies).
I spoke with about 50 employees, (you know how I love to talk soap!). Some were interested in how I make it, and others interested in why handcrafted soap was better for your skin than the detergent bars in the grocery store. Some talked about their own skin issues and what they do to help themselves. Everyone left with samples and respect for handcrafted soaps.
I’m grateful I had the opportunity to present at the event. Wish I had time for a massage though!
What are you grateful for this week?
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela

That’s a great idea for a company to bring in experts for wellness instead of just work skills. Sounds like a nice company to work for.

I thought the same thing Donna. They care about their employees.

Yes the sun! It’s been raining and cloudy here on Long Island. I’m looking forward to sunny days.
