This was a busy teaching week for me. I’m grateful I’m able to share my love of soap with so many others.
Soap Making Class
Monday night I traveled to the Upper West Side on NYC to help Marla Bosworth of Back Porch Soap. She had 14 students and we taught them how to make soap. I enjoy trekking into the city. Once upon a time I was too afraid to go. I’m grateful I worked past my fear. I learned to be comfortable with feeling uncomfortable. Once I figured that out, there was no stopping me. I started Alegna Soap® and the rest is my history.
Skin Care Class
I spent Wednesday afternoon with 6 grade school girls teaching them how to make lip scrubs. The girls said the scrubs smelled so good they wanted to eat them. Good thing they didn’t! All the girls decided to make one for their moms. In class we talk about how important it is to be beautiful on the inside and to be kind to others. I’m glad they thought of their moms.
Soap Nite
Thursday night I spent some time at Live Laugh Louise in Seaford hosting “Soap Nite”. Everyone there designed their own cold process soap. This soap is Diane’s. She used lavender and geranium rose essential oils and topped the soap with crushed rose petals. She wanted a natural soap. Others went for some of the mica’s I brought along and made soap to match their bathroom. Everyone had a good time and that makes me grateful.
What are you grateful for this week?
