I’ve been making soap for 21 years now, and I have a list of soap making suppliers I love.
When you first start, it’s easier to get everything from one supplier. Base oils, lye, fragrance and essential oils, molds, botanicals, colorants, you name it, both Brambleberry and Wholesale Supplies Plus carry it. I still purchase a few items from them, some of my private label soaps use fragrance oils only sold by these two companies.
Once I started selling my soaps and making a larger number of them, I purchased my oils and butters from Jedwards and my essential oils from Lebermuth since it’s more cost effective.
Lately, I’ve been getting my lye from Essential Depot. I’ve also used The Lye Guy and Red Crown. I like all three of these companies.
Owosso Graphics made my soap stamp and they have a great customer service for those of us who need help figuring out the ordering process. Trust me, I had no idea what I was doing and they made it the process easy.
Digho designed my logo and prints my labels. Diane and Maria are two of the hardest working ladies I’ve met. Any time I need a new label or graphic help, all I need to do is ask.
I’ve met most of the owners and staff of these companies from the conferences I attend. I know if I have a problem with something I’ve purchased, they will be willing to work with me to rectify it because we have a relationship. When I teach classes, someone will ask about getting supplies on Amazon. While I do like the convenience, getting my soap making supplies on Amazon is not something I recommend. I like knowing exactly where my supplies are coming from.
Are there any suppliers you like that I’ve forgotten? Feel free to add them.
Yours in Gratitude,
