I’m constantly amazed at the way some companies market their soap. It’s a pet peeve of mine. Remember, soap is a wash off product. I pulled these claims off the internet.
Bar soap number 1- This detoxifying and cleansing bar contains activated charcoal. Activated charcoal draws toxins and impurities from the skin and clove essential oils helps clear breakouts and heal skin. Sweet orange essential oil keeps skin strong and balanced throughout the day. This bar is best for normal/oily or acneic skin types.
Bar soap number 2- is an all-natural synergy of full-spectrum CBD and essential oils to address problem skin from dryness or irritation. With chemical-free cleansing power and healing goat milk, this soap will deliver 200mg of CBD to your body in a lovely Lavender Blossom scent. 4.5 ounces per bar. CBD SOAP will: Address dry skin, Reduce inflammation, Hydrate and moisturize.
And, my personal favorite…
Bar soap number 3- Herbal Vaginal Cleanse, assist with yeast, bacteria, vaginal tightening, smoothes. Purifies and soften. The herbs to promote proper hormone function and remove odor. detox. anti inflammation, tightening and nourishing vagina to balance the feminine PH.
Seriously?
Soap, by definition is a substance used with water for washing and cleaning, made of a compound of natural oils or fats with sodium hydroxide or another strong alkali, and typically having perfume and coloring added. It cannot detoxify you, get rid of eczema or acne, reduce inflammation, or tighten your vagina. I mean, come on! A tight vagina?? Seriously? 🙄
Soap is a Wash Off Product
Be a smart consumer. A good handcrafted soap will get you clean and not leave your skin feeling tight. If it’s scented, it may leave a light fragrance on your skin. That’s it. It’s soap, a wash off product, not a miracle cure for everything.
If you want a detoxified body, eat clean and exercise. If you want to use CBD, get a cream or lotion that stays on your skin. You want a tight vagina? I have one word. Kegals.
Have you heard any claims that some soap companies make that I haven’t covered? Share them in the comments below.

I know! “But it must be true if it’s on the internet….” We need to use our common sense. 🙂

You are one smart cookie, so honest and real.
Those claims are crazy for sure.
Angela Carillo says
Thanks Virginia. I think it’s important to be honest and real. I try really hard to say what I mean and mean what I say.

I tell most people that skincare if like the food we eat to care for ourselves. Not the medicine to cure our disease. Some times people ask me how long they should use a skin care product for? and I tell them as long as they have their skin 🙂
Angela Carillo says
Great answer Lakshmi, and so true. Everyone wants a quick fix. There isn’t one.

Thanks for your honesty Angela, and your sense of humor. I am curious though, which soap your reviewer said was the “miracle” soap for psoriasis. I would love to try some to see if it helps me with my skin issues.
Angela Carillo says
Bernadette there is no miracle soap for psoriasis. I think any handcrafted soap will be good for your skin. Try one with goat milk or honey and oatmeal.
