Lavender Oatmeal Soap

One of the very first custom soaps I made was Lavender Oatmeal. At the time, I was working my day job and deciding if I should give selling soap a try.

Laura, one of the directors in the High School, asked if I could make a Lavender Oatmeal soap for her friend. It was her favorite and she couldn’t find it anywhere. This was back in 1999, and it wasn’t easy to find handmade soap.

I was happy to make it for her, and Laura insisted on paying me. Remember, I hadn’t started Alegna Soap® yet, and it felt weird receiving money for something I did for fun. The money she paid me is on the wall in my studio. I look at it and remember how far I’ve come.

I was feeling nostalgic and make another batch on a Facebook Live on August 29th and cut it on August 30th.

This soap contains an oatmeal powder and whole oatmeal. Steel cut oatmeal would have been too harsh, I wanted something gentle and soothing, something you wouldn’t think twice putting in your baby’s bath.

Why are lavender and oatmeal so good for you? Oatmeal can gently exfoliate your skin and help remove the dirt from the skin. Lavender’s scent is relaxing and has aromatherapeutic benefits

This is truly a limited Edition soap. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
