I made this bergamot, gardenia and patchouli soap on a Facebook Live. I did a new technique I had never tried before. I used 2 pitchers and poured one full of white soap and the other with pink and purple soap.
When I cut it, I was a little disappointed. I had been hoping for more of a mix between the pink/purple soap and the white soap. Even though it didn’t turn out as I had envisioned, it’s still a beautiful looking soap.
I had no idea what to call it, so I asked for name suggestions. Gay said Purple Haze, Fred suggested Naughty and Nice. Mary thought the soap looked like a butterfly and suggested Butterfly Wishes.
They were great names, but I wasn’t one hundred percent happy with them. I decided on Bergamot, Gardenia and Patchouli soap. I like you to know exactly what your soap will smell like before you buy it
Bergamot is a sunny and pleasant citrus scent. Bright and uplifting. It can be a little spicy too.
Gardenia is one of the Queens of the florals. It’s sultry, sexy and sweet. It can hold it’s own alone, but I like it better in blends. And a little goes a long way.
Patchouli is the scent of my youth. Everyone wore it in the 70’s. It’s an earthy, warm and smoky aroma. I love to use it to add depth to blends.
