Description
Brian’s birthday is in March. I wanted to surprise him with a special bar of soap. (Don’t worry, I’ll still bake him a cake)
He likes a larger bar, shaped differently than I usually make. (Of course he does!) So I found a larger mold that I purchased from another soap maker who was selling her business.
He also like a more “manly” scent, so I combined some cypress, rosemary and Bulgarian lavender. The earthy and aromatic notes of cypress and rosemary are perfectly complemented by the calming, floral fragrance of lavender. (I’m getting excited, this is gonna be a great smelling soap!)
He loves the color blue, so I used a few blues with a touch of brown. I did an in-the-pot swirl that created a visually striking bar of soap I was truly happy about.
Since soap takes 4 weeks to cure, I made the soap on Valentine’s Day, and cut it a few days later.
Since the scent was so down-to-earth, I went to the park for photographs. I found some wood fences, and fallen trees and used them as my background.
If you’re looking for a special soap for your “Brian’s birthday”, this might just be the soap you’re looking for. It’s 4.5 ounces and fits perfectly in my husbands hand.
