Being busy seems to be a way of life for me. Some days I dream of playing hooky. In my mind, I’m planing the perfect day.
My day of playing hooky starts the night before, with an email to both my bosses telling them I’ll be out the next day. Then, I’d clean my house, get some laundry done and dinner planned for my hooky day. This way the whole day is mine, guilt free.
Waking up at 7 (instead of 5) would give me a full 8 hours sleep. There would be morning stretches and meditation, and then I’d drive to the beach and walk the boardwalk. After coming home to shower and eating a light breakfast, I’m ready to start the day at 10. Perfect timing, the library is open. I can peruse the books and pick up something for my evening read.
At 12 I’d be meeting friends for lunch and catching up on what they’ve been doing. We haven’t seen each other for a while so it’ll be a long lunch. But I’m home by 3 and thanks to my planning last night, dinner is in the crockpot. I’ll spend the rest of the afternoon in my soap studio, catching up and playing around. There’s that liquid soap recipe I’ve been wanting to try and a few pounds of mango and kokum butter I need to turn into a body butter. Before I go upstairs, I’ll make a batch of Lavender Lemongrass soap. I love making that soap.
It’s already 6pm (wow did today go fast!) and Brian’s home for dinner. After we eat and clean up, I find that library book I took out this afternoon, sit in my favorite spot on the couch and read.
That’s it. That’s what my perfect day playing hooky would look like. What does your look like?
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela

Yours is so productive! Mine would include a long afternoon at the park/playground & picnic with the kids, cooking a real breakfast in the morning, and an afternoon in the garden. Gotta get me some of that soap – lavender lemongrass sounds like an excellent combo!

Cassie that sounds like a good day to me, except for the gardening. I’m not one for digging in dirt, but I’d love to walk around in one. Thanks for sharing.

That is exactly what I would do! A walk, some friend time, a good book! Yes, Yes and Yes!

Too bad you don’t live nearby, we could take that walk together. 🙂

Most of the hooky days I took when was still a full time worker involved sleeping late, staying in jammies, reading, browsing the internet, napping (do you get that I’ve been sleep deprived for more years than I can count?) having breakfast at lunch time and basically being LAZY and BAD.

Lol I know that sleep deprived feeling Gay. Sounds like a great day.
