Sunday was a beautiful day. I had quite a bit of soap to make, orders to fill and paperwork to do. For the first time in a long while, I didn’t want to do it. I wanted to be outside. I decided to play hooky for a while.
I took a walk and thought about the week. We were able to spend time with Luke. He’s recognizing us now. His face lights up and he smiles when he sees us. Especially Brian. He really loves his Poppy.
We have plans to visit baby Brian soon. Brian is developing his own personality. He loves to watch his doggies run around the house. He laughs each time they pass him. I can’t wait to go down and see what hew things he’s up to.
My dad’s test all came back good and I’m grateful he’s been feeling a little better. See those slippers on his feet? I keep telling him to put shoes on when he goes for a walk, but he doesn’t listen to me. I guess turnaround is fair play.
I have a great bunch of girls in my after school Skincare class. I’m especially excited because out of 6 girls, 4 of them have taken the class already and loved it so much they wanted to come back. I’ll need to think of some new projects for them to do.
I had a destination for this walk. Dunkin’ Donuts. I wanted to try the new Reese’s donuts. Once I got home I made myself a cup of tea and sat and enjoyed my treat. Then I got back to work.
I’m glad I took some time to play hooky and go outside today. I still had time to do what needed to be done, and what I didn’t finish will wait. When I come upstairs after working in my studio Brian always asks me if I’m done. I tell him I’ll never be done, there’s always so much more I want to do. But sometimes you just need to take a break. I’m grateful I did.
What are you grateful for this week?
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela
