I spent some time today going through old pictures of my soaps. It’s fun to look through them and reminisce. I took this picture and the one below at my brother-in-laws house in St. Michael’s Maryland.
My sister Lisa is an amateur photographer who took many photos for me. I love the picture below with Peppermint Scrub in a martini glass, and my Lavender soap in with her violets.
Janine Horan took the next few pictures. Janine is a photographer and also a friend of my sons. I’m so grateful she was able to come to my studio many times and take photos for me.
The curing racks my dad made for me. I treasure these. I need more and Brian offered to make them for me. We found the plans my dad used and he can easily follow them. But right now, I just can’t have any that my dad didn’t make.
I’m cutting some soap here. Janine wanted to see everything I do and took pictures of it all.
I’m making soap in this one, I think it was Lily from the Laney Line. I don’t make that soap any more unless someone custom orders it.
Here’s one of my Honey Oatmeal soap.
Janine took a bunch of pictures for my first speaking presentation. This one was for the HSCG conference in Las Vegas. I talked about utilizing every scrap of soap.
This was another day Janine came over to take pictures. I had finished making soap and stopped to chat and she snapped this.
I’m grateful for all the photographers in my life. In business, you need to know what you’re good at and when to ask for help. I’m good at making soap, and not-so-good with photography. For me to get one decent picture, I have to take over 500. If someone else can do it better, why not hire them?
What are you grateful for this week?
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela

That’s so true Sharon, I do love soap making. I enjoy it almost as much as I enjoy my grandchildren!
