Like most small businesses, Alegna Soap has a small team of talented individuals working behind the scenes. It’s time to meet the team.
President and CEO
Angela Carillo is our president and CEO. Angela is a certified and licensed Medical Technologist who decided to take her career in chemistry in a new direction after her children left for college. She started Alegna Soap in 2009 and hasn’t looked back (although she does renew her Med Tech license every year.)
Chief Saponification Engineer
Our Chief Saponification Engineer is Angela Carillo. She comes to us with over 22 years of soap making experience. Angela makes all our soaps, balms, scrubs and scented oils. She confers with the Creative Product Development and whips up what they want to create. Since our soap studio is located in her home, she has been known to wake up at 4am to get started with her work. We love her dedication!
Head of Shipping
Brian Bofill has recently been promoted to Head of Shipping. Brian ships every package with his signature smile. He took over the position from Angela, who was SO happy to leave it behind. Brian is also Chief of Engineering at Vengo.
Creative Product Development
We needed someone who could dream, someone who specialized in original thinking and innovation. A think-outside-the-box person. An artistic, young creative type. We couldn’t find her, so we gave the job to Angela Carillo.
SOAPen House Staff
The SOAPen House staff consists of Pam (grey sweatshirt), Lisa (black shirt) and Margie (red-pink shirt), Angela’s sisters and sister-in-law. Margie is an expert soap wrapper, while Lisa handles the cash and credit cards. Pam is a manager at her day job, and she does a great job of watching Lisa and Margie work while taking all the credit for the sales.
Head of Sales
Angela Carillo leads the sales department. With her knowledge of soaps and enthusiastic personality, she slid right into this position. She can talk your ear off about the soap making qualities of each oil in our soaps, as well as the notes of our scent blends. Be warned, if you don’t have 30 minutes to talk about the minutia of soap, best to just say hello, make your purchase, and move on.
Social Media Intern
Meet our Social Media Intern Angela Carillo! Angela came to this job absolutely no experience, but has such a I-can-figure-this-out attitude, we can’t help but love her and we know you will too. Angela is in charge of writing all our blog posts also. It would make her really happy if you posted a comment down below. Seriously, it would make her day.
