Above is a still shot off from my Copy Cure commercial. I still can’t believe it.
Back in 2015, I knew I needed help writing. Owning an online business means blogging, and I’m not a fan of putting words on paper. Marie Forleo has always been an inspiration to me, so when she opened up a class called The Copy Cure, I registered. It was an online workshop, fun to do and helped me feel comfortable writing.
Fast forward to this past September. Louise from Marie’s team reached out to me, asking me some questions about my experience with the program so I responded. A few days later, more questions. And then it came.
Angela,
Thank you again for jumping in so whole-heartedly for this wild adventure. Your last paragraph brought tears to my eyes and I just can’t wait to meet you. I’m so glad this beautiful opportunity is giving me that chance, and I know you are going to inspire so many people.
More soon and so honored,
Louise
Excited? Absolutely! Doing a happy dance? Yes sir! Once I was chosen more information came in. We’d be doing this the day of Marie’s start of the “Everything is Figureoutable” tour. Photo shoot, makeup, interview, the works. There was a Zoom call before the big day to help us prepare. September 9th couldn’t come quickly enough for me.
A loft in SoHo
On the day of my Copy Cure commercial, I met Louise in a penthouse loft in SoHo. (It sounds so cool just to type that). I was scheduled in the 1-2pm slot with Jennifer, a yoga instructor I connected with that day. The energy was tangible, so much joy and laughter too. I brought soap for everyone and tried to relax and enjoy the moment.
I was myself and shared my story. One thing age has taught me is that trying to be something you’re not is a waste of time. After the hour was over, I met up with my friend Roberta and we went for dinner before Marie’s show. It didn’t disappoint.
I’m grateful they used my footage for a commercial, but I’m truly grateful for the experience. When I have moments of self doubt, I think back on that day and remember Louise saw something in me she thought was worth sharing.
What are you grateful for this week?
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela
