I think Brian might be getting tired of all the Manly Man soap I’ve made for him. This soap is #3, the third large soap I’ve made specifically with him in mind.
He wanted a really large bar of soap with a male scent. This bar weighs in somewhere between 7.5 and 8 ounces. These soaps were hand cut individually, and the weights vary a little. But they are almost twice as heavy as my usual bars.
He said it should smell strong and confident. Peppermint and cedarwood smell like confidence to me. The cedarwood takes the edge off the spicy mint aroma that peppermint usually has. And the peppermint sweetens the woody aroma. They blend together well.
It also needs “scrubbie” things in it, so I added crushed apricot seeds. Lots of them. I don’t know why, but Brian really likes those in a soap,
A real Manly Man soap.
I made this soap on my March 7th Facebook Live, and cut it the next day.
Brian and I walk every morning (well, most mornings). I love that it’s his hands holding the soaps. There’s a state park close to our home and the woods are the perfect place for photos. He grumbles a little, he isn’t a morning person, but indulges me. Maybe because I take his soap suggestions and run with them.
He picked the colors on this soap too. Blue, green and maroon. I asked why those three colors and he told me blue for boys, green, cause it’s my favorite color and maroon is his. Makes sense, right?
Manly Man soap #3 is up on the website now.
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela
