Have you ever wondered to yourself “How can I make my bathroom smell nice?” I have a few ideas for you. These ideas aren’t meant to replace cleaning your bathroom, if your bathroom isn’t clean nothing will make it smell nice. These are some easy things you can do to improve the air quality in your bathroom.
Open the window
If you have a window in your bathroom, open it after you’re done showering. Let that steamy hot air out and some fresh air in, even if it’s cold outside. You can close it after a few minutes. If you have time, take an old towel and wipe down the shower walls so they are dry. This will help keep out mold growth too.
Pour a quarter cup of bleach in the toilet
I have no kids or pets in my house, so I keep a small bottle of bleach behind my toilet. Every morning I pour about a quarter cup in the bowl, and use the toilet brush to quickly swish it around. Grab some toilet paper and wipe under the toilet seat too. Toilet paper into the toilet and flush.
Empty the bathroom garbage can
Empty the bathroom garbage can and put a new bag in. Rip off a square of toilet paper and roll on some scented oil. (I keep one in my medicine cabinet) Put the square in the garbage can. Now your garbage can smells lovely. While you’re at it, take that scented oil and roll it on the inside cardboard toilet paper roll. Each time you use it, you’ll redistribute the scent in the air.
Wipe down the sink
Take a washcloth and quickly wipe down the counter, faucet and sink. I keep a bottle of Mama Suds Safe All Purpose Cleaner under my bathroom sink with a rag over the bottle so everything is easily accessible. After 2-3 days, the rag goes in the wash.
Use an handcrafted scented bar soap
Leave a scented handcrafted bar soap for you and your guests to use. The scent of a liquid soap stays in the bottle, but a bar soap can permeate a bathroom quickly. Don’t store the soaps you’re not using in the bathroom though. You need to keep your handcrafted soaps in a dry environment, like your linen closet or bedroom dresser drawers.
Do you have any tips to keep your bathroom smelling nice?
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela
