Alegna Soap® Hot Springs

Last month, two of my friends and I rented an Airbnb in Hot Springs Arkansas. We wanted to check out the bathhouses, talk business and see our mutual friend, Charlene Simon of Bathhouse Soapery.

Roberta (Scrubz) and I flew to Little Rock, and took a Uber to Hot Springs, Sandy (The Purple Sage) drove from Louisiana. Since Roberta’s shop is in the town next to mine, I get to see her often.  But we don’t to see Sandy often at all. After hugs and more hugs, we planned our next few days.

On the first day we did a traditional bath at Buckstaff Bathhouse. The traditional bath consisted of a hydrotherapy bath, hot towel wrap, steam bath, sitz bath and massage. Don’t we look fancy??

The next day we tried a bath at one of the more modern bathhouses, called Quapaw Baths & Spa. This bathtub fit two people and I had it all to myself.  We opted not to do any add-ons here, we had plans for the afternoon.

Directly across the street from both of these bathhouses is our friend Charlene’s shop, Bathhouse Soapery & Caldarium, and her second shop, Villainess Alchemy.

We had a great time with Charlene.  She does a Lipstick Apotheclass at Villainess, so, we made lipstick.

We shopped at both stores and went out to lunch.

It was a quick 3 day visit. And I treasured it. Because of the internet, I’m able to connect with other soap makers all over the country.  I love keeping in touch with them online.  But it feels great to see them in person to share ideas and laughs.

Yours in Gratitude,

Angela
