Way back in 2021 on a Facebook Live, I made a fermented rice water shampoo bar. I make a lot of soaps on Facebook, but this one seemed to hit a nerve with people. A good nerve. I received so many comments and messages asking me about it.
Truth is, I made it for potential white label customer. He was trying to recreate a “green” soap/shampoo bar to take camping. A soap that would do double duty. I thought I nailed it.
Covid was happening and my customer never went anywhere with the soap. I decided to make it again, since I was still getting questions about it.
Once more, I made a fermented rice water soap bar on Facebook.
I spoke with a hairdresser who told me that rice water is supposed to be a great rinse water for your hair. Who knew??
To make the fermented water, I added about a cup of rice to a jar, filled it up with water and screwed the cap on. Easy. I’ve been asked if it was special type of rice, it wasn’t. It was the rice I use to cook.
I waited a day or two, and the water started to ferment. In other words, it smelled. That’s the water I used to make the lye water.
The shampoo is made with olive, rice bran, coconut, argan and castor oils and is scented with lavender, peppermint, tea tree and rosemary essential oil.
It lathers like crazy.
Have you tried it? Let me know what you think.
Yours in Gratitude,
Angela

I love this shampoo bar!!!! It laters incredibly well and makes my hair feel so good. I have also noticed that my front scalp does not itch since using this shampoo bar. The scent is also very relaxing and I love it.
