This summer, I wanted to make beach soap with a sunset. Something like the beaches in Bermuda or Aruba.
I made and cut this soap on a Facebook Live. (Check out the Facebook Live when I cut it, I was struggling. It was too large for my soap cutter and had to be cut by hand. Didn’t realize it until I was live on Facebook and it’s pretty funny.)
I started with the sandy beach. I used a tiny bit of a pink for the sand and added crushed apricot seeds to give that scratchy feeling of sand. This layer is scented with patchouli.
The water is a mix of a few blue micas and white. Lacy white foam rolling over a beautiful turquoise mixed with sea blue. The color combo shines. I used lavender for the aroma here.
And the sunset is an orange and yellow, scented with orange essential oil. A sprinkling (and I mean a small sprinkling) of glitter on the top. Because you know when the sun hits the water and sparkles? That’s why.
The result is a lavender, orange, and patchouli that smells fresh and uplifting. When you wash with the beach soap, the crushed apricot seeds are reminiscent of the sand. It’s colorful, looks like a beach scene and I love it.
I hope you do too.
