My weekly gratitude list is about my family. Looking back, I can’t remember a time when they weren’t there for me.
I’m grateful for my husband who woke up early Saturday morning to help stack a delivery of wood for my parents. He fixes their computer and listens to my dad’s war stories. He married into my family and treats my parents as if they were his own.
I’m grateful for my sisters. I love how they make me laugh with their teasing banter. I especially love teasing them back. They shared a room and were close growing up, but I was a few years older and into other things. (They were into sports, and I was the nerd in the library.) I’m grateful that’s changed now, even though I’m often still in the library. 🙂
I’m grateful for my parents. They are getting older and slowing down, but still continue to to be active. My mom volunteers at a thrift shop once a week, my dad is on a bowling team and they both are members of the local senior citizen chapter. During the summer I’ve been trying to meet them once a week for lunch, but it’s hard to get them both at home!
I’m grateful for my children. We raised self sufficient, God loving, caring human beings. That means more to me than what they do for a living or how much money they make. They call/Facetime/text their grandparents often. They show me every day they learned the meaning of the word family.
I’m grateful for my grandchildren. No explanation needed.
What are you grateful for this week?
Yours in Gratitude,
