The Christmas Box
I’ve never been the “Happy Holidays” type of person. I’ll ask you what you celebrate and wish you a happy whatever-that-is. Don’t you think that’s nicer?? If you don’t celebrate anything, I’ll wish you a peaceful winter.
This isn’t my first Christmas without my mom. She died in 2020 on Christmas Eve. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we had hospice coming to her house and my sisters and I were there 24/7. Truth is, I don’t remember anything about that Christmas. We were in the middle of COVID, and the vaccine hadn’t been approved yet. There was no wake, just a small mass and funeral. The whole thing is a blur.
I do remember her knowing she would be gone soon. She was upset and didn’t want to “ruin” Christmas for us. I promised her that we’d be joyful and remember her and my dad.
I want to honor my parents with lots of Christmas traditions. Family and food. Church and Santa. And Christmas smells. And while it may not be politically correct to make a gift set for only one holiday, indulge me.
I want to introduce you to the Alegna Soap Christmas Box. Click on the name of the soap and you can watch me make it on a Facebook Live. (When I was making Jingle Bells, my stick blender fell apart. It’s kinda funny)
