Description
Summer and citronella go together, don’t you think? (Just like summer and mosquitos!) I’ve seen candles, lotions and sprays. You can find it in incense, torches, and wood. I’ve even seen it in wrist bands. So why not use it in a soap?
I did some research to see just how citronella works. It’s thought the scent seems to interfere with the mosquito’s ability to locate and bite people. It masks scents that are attractive. It does have a strong, lemony grassy scent. I don’t find it unpleasant though.
To me it smells like summer. Nights sitting outside with my family, kids catching fireflies and adults drinking wine coolers. Staying up late, laying in the grass looking up at the stars. Or picnics at the park, playing frisbee with the dog while the burgers and hot dogs cook on the grill.
This soap is made with olive, coconut, palm oils and shea butter. It provides a rich lather with plenty of bubbles that will leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and protected. You can watch me make this soap on YouTube.
Side note- Citronella is toxic to cats and dogs, if ingested or absorbed in large amounts. So don’t wash your pets with it. And never let your pets eat a bar. That’s actually good advice in general. 🙂
