April’s soap is ready for Spring!

I’ve known Diane since she was about 7 or 8.  Her mom Rose, is one of my best friends. I watched Diane grow up from a sweet girl to an independent entrepreneur with her own business, Digho.

If I wasn’t Digho’s first customer, I’m sure I was one of the first five. When I started Alegna Soap® in 2009, I knew I needed a logo and I knew I couldn’t do it.

I knew I wanted gorgeous packaging, and I knew I couldn’t do that either.

I needed an artist.  (People think I’m an artsy, creative type, but I’m not. Trust me on this.)

That’s when I called Diane.  She and her business partner Maria, designed my logo, labels and packaging. And lately, they help me with my graphics for social media.

Diane always watches my Facebook Lives. When I made March’s soap for Brian’s birthday, she suggested I have a customer on to make a soap for their birthday.  Well, April is Diane’s birthday, so naturally, I asked her.

Diane wanted to make a soap that signified spring. She was thinking of a lemon-basil scent, but once she smelled basil essential oil she changed her mind (Basil essential oil smells nothing like fresh picked basil)

She decided on a Bergamot soap with Lime, Orange and a tiny bit of Patchouli.  We did a drop swirl into a yellow colored soap with white and orange and each soap bar has a slice of dried lemon on top.

Diane nailed April’s soap! The aroma is fresh and full of sunshine. Bright and cheery.

(I asked Diane for a few words and threatened her with fire ants if she called me Ms. B.) I’ve been watching Angela make soaps for years as a client, friend and her designer so when I saw the Shipping Dude make his birthday soap I had to ask if that was something I could do too.  It was so fun coming up with a flavor concept with Angela and seeing it through the creation process. I feel so special having a soap and can not wait until it is fully cured and useable. Thank you Angela for inspiring me and allowing me to get creative through soap!
