Gratitude List- Elaine

Elaine pregnant

My daughter Elaine has lived in Virginia since she graduated from college six years ago. She moved there for a job, met Leo, fell in love and they started their life together.

Brian and I miss her, but we are glad she is happy. She had a baby shower this past weekend in Virginia. A few people have asked me if I feel bad that she doesn’t live near us anymore. I won’t be able to see my new grandson as often as I’d like. I guess I am a little sad, but I’d rather remember this.

I’m grateful she has a wonderful husband to share her life with. Leo shares her quirky sense of humor and I know if the zombie apocalypse ever comes, he is ready to protect her.

I’m grateful her mother and father in law have welcomed her into their family. They are good to her and treat her like their own daughter. If I can’t be there, I’m grateful they are.

I’m grateful she has brothers and sisters in laws for support and friendship.

I’m grateful for her nieces and nephews. My grandson will have many playmates.

I’m grateful she is only 5 hours away. When I do miss her, we can easily visit for the weekend.

And yes, I made the baby shower favors. They were a huge hit.

For a few years my son lived in California. So yes, I much prefer I’m able to hop into a car to see her. She is in the came time zone. 🙂
